Autumn update from Chris Enns, PPC Candidate and Regional Lead

ree

I would like to offer my thanks to you and those others who have supported me over the past year, during and outside of the 2025 election campaign. Both the party and I have been busy since the campaign, and I would like to communicate what we have been up to.

In the wake of the election, I dedicated my time to my young family, our garden, and my work commitments. That said, while one might try to take a break from politics, politics never takes a break from you! I have been posting as much as I can on my Facebook and X accounts regarding key issues:

  • Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) overreach

  • Ethics Committee's examination of the Conflict of Interest Act

  • Bills C-2 (now 12), C-8, and C-9.

All of which have authoritarian implications and (unnecessarily) enhance and centralise state power to the people's detriment.

If I could tell people to watch for (and oppose vigorously) one thing over the coming months and years, it would be the acceleration and strengthening of power by the state (governments) and by supra-national organisations (WHO, WEF, UN, etc).

In September, with the CFIA breathing down the necks of the Ostriches and their owners in Edgewood, BC, the party approached me to go there as an envoy. I happily agreed. I was between work commitments, and my family had been supportive of the cause for many months. I rented a camper from a couple I know well in Clearwater, and my spouse organised my collection of food and firewood donations from the area to bring along for the supporters camped at the Universal Ostrich Farm.

I wasn't sure what I would find there, or what types of individuals made up the crowd. What were their politics, philosophies, and other motivations? What I found was a group of freedom-minded, compassionate, empathetic, loving, and resilient people - very much aligned with the PPC! Hardly the description that mainstream media has been pushing.

I stayed at the Ostrich farm for four days and was able to generate a number of video reports, appear on podcasts, and get an interview with Karen Esperson, one of the farm owners.

You can find my public outreach at the following locations:

After the election, the People's Party leadership sought input from candidates and volunteers, and ultimately decided to reorganise our administrative structure. We are moving to provincial associations within a national structure. You can find the details here. That link takes you to a new BC-focused PPC website designed by the newly appointed interim CEO for BC, Timothy Knight. I think it will be an excellent resource for British Columbians and Western Canadians as we move forward.

I attended some early meetings and supported the party's reorganisation initiative from the outset. The direction aligns with our support for decentralisation, is attentive to regional needs, and balances the pragmatic and budgetary realities of a smaller party. We don't have the same volunteer base as the establishment political parties. If you or someone you know would like to volunteer with the party - in any capacity - please connect them with me, and I will work to find them a role that suits their interests and/or skill set.

Last, I am honoured to announce that the party have assigned me to a regional lead role for 5 federal electoral districts in BC, an area which we are calling "Rockies North". It is my pleasure to expand the area that I will be an advocate for, both within the party and externally. You can read more about our reorganisation and why the national leadership chose me as a regional lead in the announcement below.

Thanks again for your support and for your time. Please reach out if you have any questions or suggestions.
